WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Caribou Coffee has plans to open a coffee shop in the city.

According to city documents, the company plans to build a 600-square-foot building at 2820 Eighth St. S., next to Domino’s. The Wisconsin Rapids Plan Commission will discuss the proposal at its meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 444 W. Grand Ave.

The location would include a drive-thru as well as a walk-up window and outdoor seating. Entrances would be on Grove Avenue and Eighth Street South.

The property is currently vacant. The Plan Commission also will discuss a separate request Monday proposing the land at 2820 Eighth St. S., be split into two lots. Caribou Coffee would occupy one of the lots.
