A new downtown Johnson City coffee shop has been approved to sell beer.

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) – The Johnson City Beer Board voted Tuesday night to grant a new downtown business its beer license.

Blue’s Brews began as an Airstream serving hot beverages like coffee, but the business will now have some colder and harder options.

Blue’s Brews opened its new brick-and-mortar location at 109 Cherry Street. Prior to its grand opening celebration on Saturday, the owners had applied for the license to offer more choices to customers.

Gelato shop on US 280 bans cell phones, profanity, scantily clad patrons: ‘This place is different’

A re-creation of an Italian gelato shop in Rome has opened on U.S. 280 in Alabama and it’s trying to imitate the ambiance of a European café by banning cell phones, laptops, profanity and scantily clad patrons.

Some on social media have mocked its rules: “I can’t wait until the first time they deny service to an over the mountain Karen because she’s wearing her LuLu Lemon leggings,” one poster wrote on a Reddit thread.

Those who have signed the guest book at Villaggio Colafrancesco rave about the atmosphere, which includes a restroom whose ceilings are religious scenes that look

Fancy Tendernob Coffee Shop Coffee Movement Just Opened A Second Location in the Richmond

One of San Francisco’s finest coffee shops, the Coffee Movement at 1030 Washington Street, is growing. The business, known for uncommon coffee drinks like espresso greyhounds, is opening a second location in the former Orson’s Belly space at 1737 Balboa Street on December 1. Bryan Overstreet, co-owner alongside Reef Bessette, says the space is currently open in the morning until the grand opening next month. “There are some underserved coffee communities near the ocean,” Overstreet says. “The middle Richmond is a coffee desert, and, selfishly, it’s close to Breadbelly so I can get tasty snacks.”

How Kinfolx, Downtown Oakland’s New Coffee Shop, Celebrates Connection in the Black Community

“How do you maintain what Oakland was?” That’s a question attorney Creighton Davis, an Oakland resident, has pondered as he’s seen the town change over the past few decades. He misses the days when he’d be out with his dad, who’d point someone out and say, “That’s our kinfolk.”

The desire to celebrate the sense of connection that Oakland’s Black families once enjoyed inspired Davis, along with friends Nicole Reyes and Akintunde Ahmad, to create Kinfolx, a community-focused coffee shop and wine bar. They hope Kinfolx will become a neighborhood gathering place when it makes its soft opening on November
